Heather Harlen is a writer, teacher, writing consultant, and curriculum designer. She has a B.A. in English and a teaching degree, an M.A. in creative writing, and an M.Ed. She is the owner of Heart In Hand Writing Services, a company specializing in writing coaching and developmental editing. Heather and her husband live in Eastern Pennsylvania where she teaches high school English and is working on Book 3 of the Marina Konyeshna Trilogy.

A Writing Group For Women
Session 2: March 24 - April 21st | Wednesdays from 7:45pm - 9:00pm EST via Zoom

That's why I started Write Time, a weekly writing group just for women.
At Heart In Hand Writing Services, my goal is to support any writer.
Joining The Write Time is basically scheduling an appointment with yourself to write. The first FOUR sessions look like this:
- 20 minutes: Check-in and Creative Spark activity
- 40 minutes: Individual writing time (all sound will be muted, I'll have a countdown timer on the screen, and off we go for 35 minutes of writing, all to ourselves!)
- 15 minutes: Sharing/wrap up
(Ummm....that's THREE HUNDRED MINUTES OF WRITING TIME IN FOUR WEEKS! I TOLD YOU IT WAS POSSIBLE!)
The FINAL session is a response group where we:
- Share a piece for feedback
- Celebrate our successes and set our next writing goals
Who is the facilitator?
I am a professional writer with a master's degree in creative writing who has written two novels while both working full-time and part-time jobs. I have been an English teacher for over two decades and am a nationally-certified writing consultant who has facilitated writing groups, workshops, and conferences. Most importantly, I believe that writing is for everyone and I am here to support your writing dream.
Why women-only?
Because I think there is special magic created when women come together. And yes, this includes my trans sisters, as well.
What do I need?
Access to Zoom, a quiet place to work with no distractions for 75 minutes, a notebook or a laptop (however you prefer to write); snack/beverage, if you like; a commitment to your stories, poems, screenplays, etc.
What will I get?
Time to write and supportive, honest feedback in the final session. Also: fellowship, creative writing exercises to keep your juices flowing, and the opportunity to connect with other writers.
What's my investment?
Your investment is $60 for a set of four weekly writing sessions plus a response group the final week. You will also be offered 15% off my writing coaching and developmental editing services as well as the option to join The Write Time's members-only Facebook group where we will keep in touch, share writing tips, author events, and more.
